Florida is a popular place to go on a summer vacation. People from all over the world go there for the beaches, amusement parks and good times. Where should you go in Florida? That depends on what you enjoy. If you don't like the beach perhaps you should hit Orlando and all of the amusement parks that it offers. Here are 4 cities in Florida to visit for your summer vacation.

1) Daytona Beach - Like spending time at the beach? You can find it here since there 23 miles of it in Daytona. At times this a great party town. It is synonymous with Spring Break, college kids and good times. Daytona Beach is only about 60 minutes from Orlando so if you want to visit the amusement parks one day while you are taking a break from the beach it is not that far away.

2) Orlando - Located smack dab in the middle of the state, Orlando provides families with laughs, good times and plenty of amusement parks. Some of the theme parks include Epcot, Walt Disney World, MGM Studios, Universal, Sea World and Universal's Islands of Adventure. Beaches on the east coast are roughly 45-60 minutes away. This is a great place for the family.

3) Miami - This is home to some of Florida's best beaches. Not only that but there is much more to do than just the sand, sun and water. You can golf, go shopping, eat out, hit the spa, workout and just about anything else you love to do while on vacation.

4) Sarasota - Wow. Paradise found. This is a fabulous place to take the family. Sarasota is a smaller beach city but there is plenty to do. Siesta Key beach is consistently ranked as one of the prettiest beaches in the country. Here you can hit the spa, go shopping, enjoy a movie, play on the beach, fish, parasail, boat and a multitude of other fun things.

Choosing a Beach This Summer

If you are looking for ideas for a summer vacation to enjoy with friends and family, consider going to the beach. This is a great way to recover from the stress of daily life!

Maybe you already go to the beach nearest you quite frequently, and are looking for a unique getaway. No problem! Look around the country or globe for beaches you've never been to. Chances are, there are many that are just a few hours away by plane or car.

Looking for a romantic getaway for your honeymoon or anniversary? Consider going to Hawaii. Maui has amazing beaches that are miles long. They also have activities that you won't find at home!

If you've already been to Maui, consider the Virgin Islands! Many honeymooners enjoy this popular spot. It is absolutely gorgeous and you'll never forget the memories you create as you enjoy the scenery with your partner.

But you don't really have to leave the United States to find a great beach. California is known for its beaches, and many of them have activities for the kids. What a great way to show the kids how different land can be in different locations right here in our own country!

Some of the better known attractions in California include Sea World and the San Diego Zoo, but there are many others. Huntingdon is one of the best beaches in my opinion, and my family and I visit almost every year.

You'll want to know before heading out on vacation if the resort is most frequently visited by families or by couples. If you don't have children and are heading out on your honeymoon, you may not want to be around a bunch of children on your vacation!

Some beaches offer attractions on certain days, so be sure to look into this before booking your trip so you can get in all of your favorite activities!
