Note: this is to visit the mouse version of Orlando, so you had your heart disappointment at all about Disney World may get a little bit. Recently, I have a week in Orlando with my husband and in-laws. We had rented a car and will be worked out a plan that fairly well, so I share what we have with you:
Make a plan before you leave your home
There are a lot of information out there to do things in order in the Orlando areaDepending on your interests. Some suggestions include State / National / Local parks for hiking / picnic / fishing / canoeing, theme parks, zoos / animal parks, and recreations such as mini-golf and go-kart. Entry into some of the theme parks can be very expensive, making it a good idea to find out where to go before their time, and what shows want / trips, etc. you are in interested to get the most out of your day.
You can use a guide from your local library, bookstore or online. We have maps of our local CAA / AAA Auto Club, so we knew the exit, take off from the highway. So we bought Sea World Discount Tickets from the CAA before we left, saves $ 10 per person at the door (they have other theme park), as well as discounted tickets.
If you watch around online timeshare scam offer discount theme park tickets in exchange for their homes to go pitch. A good site for information is the official site Orlando Visitor Centerwww.orlandoinfo.com
Visit the Official Visitor Center, where you there
Visit the only official Visitor Center, where you there (see address on the page above), it is on International Drive, which is located on the main tourist strip. Be aware of other objects that are "tourist centers," are they just trying to sell you tickets. The people on the official center are unbiased, friendly and helpful. There are also many books and coupon magazineYou should pick up here. This visit will help you to complete things that you might want to do. (We have coupons for less than half price mini-golf, if you go before 4pm). There were also several discount coupons for the same restaurants and shows in several books.
Sea World
We both had an interest in this theme park, and it was worth it, because they give you the second day free with your admission. Everything you need to do is validate your ticket beforeLeaving the park on the first day, the desk next to the ticket gate on the left if you are logged in. Some of the full production shows are a must. We especially enjoyed the Shamu show, the dolphin and bird shows, and the sea lion show. There is also a gigantic roller coaster named Kraken, and a log-ride-style roller coaster called Journey to Atlantis. There is also a children's area with a place to eat (they allow you your own food in this park) and small rides.
AnotherThe highlight is the Hospitality Center, where the parent company Anheuser-Busch, every adult can have a couple of generous samples of their beer! You can also Clydesdales and their Dalmatian here. The Shark Attack exhibition is also a must see. All in all, worth the full price (for 2 full days parking) is an additional $ 10 per day, but only a short walk from the lot.
Universal Orlando's Islands of Adventure
There are 2 parts Universal Orlando: The traditionalPart where they show you how movies are made with a few rides on, and the newer Islands of Adventure, an all-out theme park. Adults or children can be met for a whole day here and in full. Since it is in the business of entertainment, I must say that she was really with the attractions.
If you read my article on overcoming the fear of the other day, must do the two roller coasters are the Dragons Duel and the Incredible Hulk. The Hulk is actually athe top 10 roller coasters in the U.S. - my husband saw it on a TV show. Another must do, is the Spider-Man 3D driving simulation - not like a simulation but feel for me! Other devices we have been very much enjoyed the Jurassic Park River Adventure and the Dr. Seuss Trolly train ride. The line ups were not bad on the day we went, but if you have to prioritize at a busy time you can on the rides too important. Universal offers a limited number of Express Plus pass holders who can skipMost of the lines and fit in more trips - they can be purchased through the park.
Lake Kissimmee State Park
We spent the day hiking in this beautiful park, it was about 45 minutes drive from where we were staying close to Disney. It is well organized and the staff are very proud to work there. There are about 14 miles of trails, which we knew, and some picnic areas. It is a loop to a cleaner look-out tower, but keep in mind that this is Florida, so you reallyonly get a good view of some marshy land and a grassy field...but a nice view nonetheless! I also noticed that a lot of people were there fishing.
Central Florida Zoo
We spent a little over half a day at this zoo. It is a relatively small zoo with around 400 animals and a botanical garden. It is not as well developed as the other attractions in Orlando, but I'm just guessing that compared to Sea World, Bush Gardens, and the Disney Animal Park they probably just It would not be able to compete anyway. I think that this is a great zoo, if you would have small children. You may have a hard time for a whole day there, so you can do something else for the afternoon recovery plan. They do not advertise, but they give you a CAA / AAA discount on the gate if you ask.
International Drive
This is apart of one of the main tourist strip from Disney and downtown Orlando. There is plenty to do here, and you have the opportunity toTo get driving or using the well-organized and cost-tram and down the street. We are always happy to eat at places we do not have in Canada, so that the Sonic drive-thru was a novelty for us. We have no time to do these things than on this street were WonderWorks, the Ripley's Believe It or Not attractions, tons of mini-golf and many, many places to eat and entertain your family. There are also many hotels and shopping centers nearby.
Other things to do in the Orlando areathat (we are not going to Disney and the many theme parks, Busch Gardens in Tampa, the zoo a safari-based with some pretty good roller coasters), the Orlando Science Center (this is especially for children, but also has an IMAX theater and some special exhibitions), many state parks and Wet N 'Wild (a popular water park).
Enjoy your holiday!
